OUR FOUNDER
Khadija Sokhna Neumann
Activist, philanthropist, ex-runway model and survivor, Senegal-born Khadija Donatelli Neumann. This 5 foot 10 Amazonian beauty, was born and raised with 12 siblings in poverty-stricken M’Bour, 50 miles south of Dakar. Against impossible odds and armed with determination and a can-do attitude, Khadija made the giant leap from Africa to Europe in 1996 to pursue her dream of becoming a model. She settled in Geneva initially, then headed for Paris, where a chance meeting in an elevator with the CEO of Metropolitan Models would change the course of her career and led to a meeting with Yves Saint Laurent, for whom she became a muse and inspiration for many of his creations. She subsequently worked with couture legends galore including; Christian Dior, Emanuel Ungaro, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton,Christian Lacroix, Isaac Mizrahi, Azzedine Alaïa, and Eli Saab. In 2001, Khadija also featured as a rising black artist and activist in the celebrated book, Amazones of Soul, a stylish byproduct of fashion photographer Thierry Le Goues’ collaboration with Paco Rabanne. In 2009, she swapped Paris for Manhattan, signed with New York Model Management, and continued to appear in countless international campaigns as one of the most popular models on the roster. Her multifaceted career continues in Los Angeles, California with her husband Andreas Neumann and her daughter, as an entrepreneur were she recently co-produced the award winning Rock documentary “American Valhalla” with her media company Siouxx, in Los Angeles. Khadija is well known for her bespoke and elegant fashion creations which she wears exclusively herself to the biggest events in the entertainment industry to date. Khadija now has launched her very own fashion line of her own elegant ethnic African culture.
SPECIAL THANKS
Dr. Mamadou Sokhna & Diaynaba Thiam Sokhna
Dr. Mamadou Sokhna and his beautiful wife Diaynaba were the kindest humans you could have ever crossed paths with. As a power couple they helped built their community of M’bour out or poverty. Dr. Mamadou and Mrs. Sohkna built the first hospital for the blind and the handicap in their community. They then continued their gratitude of helping others in any way they could. Khadija is blessed to be half of what her parents where to her community. She now is paying it forward with the Dream Baby Foundation. She knows her parents are looking down at her today with warm hearts of continuing the gratitude of helping others in need locally to her and globally to those less fortunate.
